MayFest Royals 2026 - Apply Now!!!

Applications are now open to become the Richmond MayFest Queen and King for 2026. We are also looking for a Jester, Knight and Flower Girl.
You need to be:

aged between 9 and 13
live in DL9, DL10 or DL11
be free the weekend of MayFest (2-4 May 2026)

A few terms and conditions… (as always!)

Applicants must be aged between 9 and 13.
Applicants must live in post code areas DL9, DL10 or DL11.
Applicants need to be available for a very informal interview at Richmond Town Hall on the morning of Saturday 7 February 2026. There is no need to dress up for the interview!
Applicants need to be available for the MayFest weekend, which in 2026 is Saturday 2nd to Monday 4th May. They especially need to be available for the crowning ceremony on Saturday, and the parade on Monday. A parent or guardian must also be available for all appearances, and remain responsible for the child throughout.
Costumes will be provided for the May Queen and King, while attendants are invited to create their own costumes.
Applicants (and their parents or guardians) must be okay with being photographed and the photographs being made available for promotional purposes. Any such photographs will only be used in association with Richmond MayFest.
Applicants (and their parents or guardians) give their consent for their contact details to be stored by Richmond MayFest for use strictly and only in association with Richmond MayFest’s May Queen & King Competition.
